EUGENE, Ore. -- A house caught fire early Tuesday morning, forcing neighbors to evacuate their homes and causing a power outage that left hundreds without power.
The call came in just after 2 a.m. with reports of flames engulfing the second floor of a two-story home in the 1600 block of West 11th Street in west Eugene.
Multiple crews responded, including EWEB. Officials estimated more than 200 households and businesses were initially without power. The power was restored later in the morning.
Officials say the second floor of the house is a total loss and no one was home when the fire started. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
