EUGENE, Ore. -- A shopping center in Eugene was filled with holiday cheer, as they kicked of the season with their annual tree-lighting event.
Hundreds of people came out to the Oakway Center Sunday night for the annual Tree Lighting Celebration. They crowded the sidewalks and parking lot as they welcomed the holiday season.
Many people said this is a family tradition that they enjoy sharing with the community.
"We always come out to Oakway to watch the tree lighting. It's a great way to start off the Christmas season with the family and the community," said Jeremy Chandler, a Eugene resident.
There were also real reindeer and live music in the courtyard after the tree lighting, along with hot chocolate.
