ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Roseburg residents may notice some changes when they turn on the faucet starting next month.
The Roseburg Fire Department will be flushing fire hydrants from April 1 through June 30. Hydrant flushing will happen from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.
During the flushing process, customers may experience low water pressure or discolored water. Officials say while the water is safe to drink, customers may prefer to wait until it runs clear before drinking or washing clothes and dishes.
They add that while this may cause some inconvenience, the flushing program is necessary to ensure the proper functioning and delivery of adequate water from the water mains when needed for fire control.
