Inmate tests positive for COVID-19 at correctional facility in Coos County

An inmate at the Shutter Creek Correctional Institution tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Department of Corrections.

NORTH BEND, Ore. -- An inmate at the Shutter Creek Correctional Institution tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Department of Corrections.

This case has brought the total known cases in Oregon's prison system to 12.

According to the Department of Corrections, 4 staff and 4 inmates at Santiam Correctional Institution and 4 staff members at the Oregon State Penitentiary have also tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
