LOS ANGELES -- Fans have voted Justin Herbert the 2020 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year.

Herbert, a Eugene-native who attended Sheldon High School, was the University of Oregon star quarterback before being taken sixth overall in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers.

Herbert set several records in his debut pro season as quarterback, including the most passing touchdowns by a rookie quarterback and most total touchdowns by a rookie quarterback in NFL history.

He was chosen by fans for the title out of five finalists.

Herbert led the Ducks to Pac-12 and Rose Bowl titles as a senior at the University of Oregon.  Herbert was the Senior Bowl MVP and a Campbell Trophy winner as the nation's top scholar-athlete.
