Douglas County K9 helps catch man who tried to run from police

Police chased the suspect until they couldn’t see him anymore and that is when K-9 Nike intervened making a biting capture.

ROSEBURG,Ore. – A K9 with the Roseburg Police Department helped the Myrtle Creek Police Department catch a man who tried to run from police.

Matthew Bay led police on a pursuit on September 23.

After fleeing from police Bay crashed his car on a mountain road and Myrtle Creek Police Department said Bay got out of the car and ran down a steep mountain.

Police chased Bay until they couldn’t see him anymore and that is when K-9 Nike intervened making a biting capture.

K9 Nike held Bay until officers were able to reach them.

Bay was taken into custody by the Myrtle Creek Police and was arrested for two felony warrants, and several new charges.
