DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – K-9 Grim helped deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office catch two suspects in one night.

Deputies said the first incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday when deputies received a tip that 23-year-old Christopher Binder of Glide had been spotted on the 200-block of Brown Street in Glide. Deputies said Binder had multiple warrants out for his arrest.

When deputies and Oregon State Police arrived on the scene, they said K-9 Grim began to track Binder and eventually located him on the riverbank. Binder was then arrested and taken to the Douglas County Jail.

Then, a few hours later around 8:30 p.m. that same evening, deputies said they were called to a residence on the 8000-block of Highway 42 in Tenmile for a report of a man hiding in the home, allegedly violating a restraining order. K-9 Grim was able to locate 42-year-old Kenny Edwards of Tenmile, who deputies said was hiding under a bed. When Edwards resisted arrest, K-9 Grim helped deputies, despite Edwards’ attempt to harm the dog.

Deputies said K-9 Grim was not injured.

Edwards was also taken to the Douglas County Jail.

K-9 Grim is a 7-year-old German Shepherd and has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2013.
