Cancer patients are at risk amid the coronavirus pandemic.

ROSEBURG, Ore. – As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the Community Cancer Center in Roseburg is using telehealth to continue helping patients.

This protects cancer survivors who are especially susceptible to coronavirus, while still providing routine follow-ups and consultations to their patients.

For those who need chemotherapy or radiation treatments, the center is doing everything it can to protect the patients and caregivers.

Everybody is wearing masks and observing social distancing as much as possible.

“We had a very nice donation from Douglas Public Health Network where they provided us 100 homemade masks from our communities," said Tammy Turner, executive director.

Turner said if any patients are showing symptoms of the virus, it’s critical that they stay home.

KEZI 9 News Checks In is a monthly reminder to do a self-breast exam to check for any lumps or changes. You can sign up here.
