KEZI 9 News wins 2 Emmy awards for Holiday Farm Fire coverage

Both awards were from coverage during the Holiday Farm Fire.

SEATTLE, Was. -- KEZI 9 News won two Emmy awards on Saturday night for coverage during the Holiday Farm Fire.

One award was for an evening broadcast which aired on September 8, 2020, shortly after the fire started. The other award was for a broadcast that aired the following morning.

Mike Boring, vice president and general manager, issued the following statement: “We are proud that our commitment to breaking news coverage in western Oregon was recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Northwest Chapter. Our hearts go out to the community members who lost so much in the fires, and our appreciation goes to the first responders and volunteers who have served the community so well.”

The Emmy award ceremony was held virtually due to COVID-19.
