Lane County reports new COVID-19 workplace and social clusters

Lane County Public Health is reporting 18 new coronavirus cases on Oct. 1, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 1,328 cases.

LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- Lane County Public Health is reporting 18 new coronavirus cases Oct. 1, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 1,328. 

These cases include one new case associated with a long-term care facility, one new workplace cluster, and three new social clusters.

A resident at Valley West Health Care Center, 2300 Warren Street in Eugene, has tested positive. The facility is working with Lane County to further mitigate the spread of the virus.

Lane County was notified that five staff members at Nile Gentleman's Club, 1033 OR-99 in Eugene, tested positive. They are also working with Lane County to help stop the spread of the virus.

Social clusters include one new outbreak associated with a back-to-school party and two outbreaks associated with two sepearate weddings.

Lane County Public Health has warned that if the county continues to see a surge in cases it could go back to Phase I.
