Lane County adds 75 cases, 1 death, new outbreak

Six of these new cases are associated with a long-term care facility.

EUGENE, Ore. – Lane County Public Health reported 75 new COVID-19 and one more death from Saturday to Monday.

Six of these new cases are associated with a long-term care facility. Officials said five residents and one staff member tested positive at Farmington Square Senior Living, 2730 Bailey Lane in Eugene. The facility is working with public health officials and taking precautionary measures to limit the spread.

The total of confirmed and presumptive cases since the start of the pandemic has reached 1,239. Nine people are in the hospital, and 179 cases are considered infectious.

The county’s 18th coronavirus-related death is an 85-year-old man who died Sept. 27. Officials said he was from the Eugene-Springfield area and was in the hospital when he died. Lane County Public Health sent their condolences to his friends and family.
