EUGENE, Ore. -- The spike in COVID-19 cases continues in Lane County.
On Wednesday, Lane County Public Health reported 16 new cases. This brings the total, including confirmed and presumptive cases, to 894. Five people are in the hospital, and 75 are considered infectious. There have been at least 60,000 tests conducted for county residents.
From Saturday to Tuesday, the county added nearly 50 cases.
A total of 14 people have died. Two new deaths were reported on Monday.
Officials said a 96-year-old Eugene-Springfield area resident died Saturday from COVID-19-related causes. She had not been hospitalized prior to her death.
An 87-year-old man from the Eugene-Springfield area died Sunday. He had not been hospitalized prior to his death either.
