Lane County crews helping fight wildfire near Redmond

So far, the fire has scorched between 50 and 100 acres near the airport.

EUGENE, Ore. – Lane County crews are helping fight a wildfire near Redmond.

Units from Coburg, the McKenzie valley, Lane Fire Authority, South Lane and Goshen are all assisting.

So far, the fire has scorched between 50 and 100 acres near the airport.

Highway 126 east of Redmond is back open Wednesday morning in both directions, but the nearby community college has been evacuated and is closed.

This is the first call for assistance from Lane County this year.
