Lane County reports 8th COVID-19 death

Officials said a 78-year-old woman from the Eugene-Springfield area died Friday evening from COVID-19-related causes.

EUGENE, Ore. --- Lane County Public Health reported the eighth coronavirus-related death in the county on Saturday.

Officials said a 78-year-old woman from the Eugene-Springfield area died Friday evening from COVID-19-related causes. 

The woman was not hospitalized prior to her death, officials said.

No more information will be released at this time.

There have been eight deaths in Lane County associated with COVID-19.

Lane County Public Health sent their condolences to the woman's friends and family.
