EUGENE, Ore. – Health officials in Lane County plan to give out more than 10,000 vaccines this weekend.

Jason Davis with Lane County Public Health said more than 61,000 people are now fully vaccinated in the county, about 20% of the adult population.

The county would like to give out even more vaccines this weekend at Autzen Stadium and the Lane Events Center, but they’re just not getting enough doses to do that, Davis said.

“Our allocations are at or below last week’s number. That greatly affects ability to move forward with new advances and open new sites and scheduling appointments out further than one week,” Davis said. “That has been a point of contention for some time for folks because not everyone lives on a week-by-week basis.”

Davis said they’re using all the vaccine supply they have each week.

Pharmacies are able to schedule out longer in advance because they get more doses from federal partners, Davis said.
