The bill hasn't been signed to give the hatchery it's funding and the last day to veto it is August 9.

Community Organizer Sean Davis says the community is optimistic because of the support they've seen to save what they say is a pillar in their community.

"The Leaburg Hatchery brings 70,000-90,000 people a year in here," said Davis. "They'll come in here and they'll eat at Ikes or go up-river go for a hike and it's a huge thing for the economy, but it's also really big for the community."

Local business owners were there as well as the mayor of Creswell, Lane County commissioner Joe Berney, Representative Cedric Hayden and over a hundred neighbors.

All those in attendance say that this place offers so much to their community and they hope it will stick around for decades to come
