LEBANON, Ore. – A Lebanon man faces multiple charges after police say he ‘pistol-whipped’ a woman.
Police said they learned of the incident just before midnight on Aug. 6. It reportedly took place in the 900 block of W. D Street.
Officers arrived at the hospital to talk to the alleged victim, who said Cory Gerig, 43, assaulted her.
Gerig is a convicted felon and is not allowed to have guns, police said. Officers have had about 23 contacts with Gerig in the past.
On Aug. 13, Gerig was found at his place of work. He was taken to the Linn County Jail on charges of fourth-degree assault, strangulation and felon in possession of a weapon. More charges are possible.
A search warrant was executed at the home on D Street, where police said they found weapons and three homemade silencers. Investigators also learned more weapons were located at another location in Lebanon. A total of nine firearms were seized.
The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information, contact officers at 541-451-1751, ext. 4345.
