Linn County man dies of coronavirus

There are 51 new cases as of Friday.

SALEM, Ore. – A Linn County man is among the most recent deaths related to coronavirus in the state, Oregon Health Authority said.

OHA announced three more deaths Friday, not including the death announced by Lane County Public Health earlier in the morning.

State officials said the Linn County man, who was 89, tested positive March 15 and died April 22 at his residence.

In Multnomah County, an 86-year-old man tested positive April 14 and died April 20 at his residence and an 80-year-old man tested positive April 12 and died April 19, also at his residence.

OHA said they all had underlying health conditions.

There are also 51 new cases, OHA said. This brings the state total to 2,177. The new cases include five in Clackamas, two in Lane, 20 in Marion, 14 in Multnomah, two in Umatilla, and eight in Washington. The two Lane County cases have already been reported by KEZI 9 News.

A case originally counted for Douglas County was later determined to not be a case.
