EUGENE, Ore. -- Lane County Public Health held their daily press conference Tuesday where local health officials said they are taking things day by day amid the constantly changing circumstances of the pandemic.
"We're fortunate that our community has come together that we have literally flattened that curve into a pancake. That’s a great thing -- we’re able to move forward over the next several weeks, reacclimate very carefully, into what we would consider a more normal environment, but this won’t be normal for many months," said Dr. Rick Concade, Medical Director for Lane County Community Health Centers.
Officials at the press conference didn't have a particular date on when we might be able to get back to that normal environment, or what that normal environment might even consist of.
Health experts did say they are adapting to the needs of their patients as much as possible.
"We have started to identify for our most at-risk patients the opportunity to do home visits so we can provide needed in person care in their home," said Dr. Stacy Chance with Oregon Medical Group.
