ROSEBURG, Ore. -- School districts and universities in our area are trying to prepare students and staff for a possible coronavirus outbreak.
KEZI 9 News spoke with officials from Roseburg Public Schools, Eugene 4J School District, Springfield Public Schools, the University of Oregon and Oregon State University.

Many of the schools are enforcing daily deep cleans throughout their facilities. They also said they’re urging everyone to wash their hands consistently and stay home if they’re sick.
Officials said they’ve sent out letters to parents, students and staff that detail current cases, how their schools are preparing and how people should prepare individually. They will keep students and staff updated as more information becomes available.
Recently, state health officials have identified a third presumptive case of novel coronavirus in Oregon. The person is an adult resident of Umatilla County. Officials said they are in a hospital in Walla Walla, Washington.
