SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A man accused of damaging numerous storefronts early Tuesday morning was taken into custody by Springfield Police.
A police officer responded to an alarm in the 1800 block of Pioneer Parkway East at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday and found a business with a shattered glass door. The officer also saw a man on the sidewalk in front of other nearby businesses that had been damaged.
The man began walking away from the officer, but the officer contacted him and after a brief conversation, took Brandon Lawrence Foster, 25, into custody.
Police discovered that nearly every business in the strip mall had damage to the windows, doors or both. When Foster was searched by police, they did not find any property that appeared to have been taken from the shops.
Foster was taken to the Lane County Jail and booked on warrants for failing to appear on criminal mischief and criminal trespass charges. He will later be taken to the Springfield Municipal Jail on 11 counts of criminal mischief in connection with the Pioneer Parkway incident.
