SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – Police arrested a man in connection to a rash of car break-ins.
Thursday night, police responded to multiple calls about a suspect breaking into vehicles in a neighborhood near the 5000 block of Main Street.
Police said 37-year-old Denys Quatier was identified as the suspect.
Police said a witness confronted Quatier during one of the alleged break-ins. They said he fled and police searched the area.
During the search, police said they discovered multiple vehicles in the area that had been broken into. They also found bags of stolen property Quatier allegedly stashed or dropped while fleeing the neighborhood.
Police said Quatier was eventually arrested on the 4400 block of Booth-Kelly Road, just east of South 42nd Street. Police said his backpack contained stolen property tying him to several of the reported break-ins.
Quatier is facing numerous charges related to theft and criminal trespass.
