Man arrested after barricading himself inside home, guns seized

Police seized three guns and several rounds of ammunition at a home in Sweet Home. They said their investigation started off as a domestic violence case.

SWEET HOME, Ore. -- A man was arrested after police said he barricaded himself inside his home after assaulting two people in two separate incidents.

James Ronald Rodmann was accused of domestic violence on December 1. Police officers were called out to his home but Rodman refused to come out to talk to officers.

The next day, officers responded to an assault at the Sweet Home Veteran's Club. When they arrived, the suspect was driving away. They tried to pull him over but he refused to didn't stop.

Officers identified the driver as Rodman, 56. Police followed him to a home on Tamarack Street. They said he got out of the vehicle and ran inside.

Rodman ended up barricading himself inside his home, police said. He eventually came out when a SWAT team was called in.

A search warrant was executed after police learned Rodman was a convicted felon and had firearms in his home. Police seized three firearms and several rounds of ammunition.

Rodman is facing charges of felon in possession of a firearm, assault, interfering with a peace officer, attempting to elude police in a vehicle, and attempting to elude police on foot.
