EUGENE, Ore -- Police arrested 42-year-old Daolo Zaludmackie after he allegedly strangled his mother Friday afternoon at the 1900 block of Hawkins Lane.
Zaludmackie was reportedly running around the yard partially clothed before entering a home and using a tool to damage items inside. His 74-year-old mother called CAHOOTS after she was unable to calm her son, police said.
CAHOOTS spoke to Zaludmackie through the front door of the home. Zaludmackie became upset and grabbed the victim by the throat with one hand and by the face/forehead area with his other hand, according to police. He then allegedly pushed her face into the wall and CAHOOTS called for assistance.
When officers arrived, the victim was outside the home and Zaludmackie was inside. After waiting outside the residence for more than an hour, two officers attempted to call the land line phone of the residence.
The victim later gave permission for officers to enter the home. Officers then went inside and found Zaludmackie who was uncooperative and arrested him without incident, police said.
Zaludmackie was lodged at the Lane County Jail and is facing multiple charges including Strangulation, Assault in the Fourth Degree and Menacing.
