NEWPORT, Ore. (AP) -- Police arrested a 59-year-old man accused of shooting two people during a neighborhood dispute in Newport, Oregon.
Police Chief Jason Malloy says Franklin Tomes holed up in an apartment after the shooting, but surrendered early Wednesday after speaking with SWAT team negotiators.
The victims were taken to a hospital in Corvallis. The chief says they are in stable condition.
Tomes has been charged with attempted murder and unlawful use of a weapon. It's unknown if he has a lawyer.
