ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man has died after he collided with a car while riding his electric scooter Tuesday night.
The incident happened around 5:16 p.m. in the 2400 block of NE Stephens St. in Roseburg.
Police said the unidentified man was traveling southbound on his scooter in the bicycle lane on the road's east side. At the same time, a car was attempting to turn northbound from a parking lot on the same side. They say the man tried stopping but was ejected over the handlebars and got stuck under the vehicle.
First responders were able to get him out and he was transported to Mercy Medical Center where he later died.
Police say an investigation is ongoing but don't believe impairment was a factor. They are not releasing any more details about the man until a next of kin has been notified.
