SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- A man was arrested for driving under the influence early Monday morning after police say he crashed his car into parked vehicles in a Springfield neighborhood.

The crash happened in the 100 block of South 63rd Street just before 2:30 a.m. Monday morning.

According to the Springfield Police Department, Ruben Rodriguez picked up a woman in the area of 62nd Place and then sped around a corner toward South 63rd Street, going about 40 to 50 mph. He reportedly lost control and hit a parked car, which pushed the car into two others.

Rodriguez's car was totaled and the first parked car he hit was significantly damaged, police said.

The man and his two passengers were sent to RiverBend Hospital with minor injuries. Officials said all three people were intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Rodriguez was charged with DUII, failure to perform the duties of a driver and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.
