EUGENE, Ore. -- A man was arrested at the Saturday Market this weekend after reportedly refusing to wear a mask or leave and acting like he was going to fight other customers.
Jesse Webb, 49, of Walton reportedly yelled at a vendor, and officers who made contact with him said he seemed to be in a drug-like state.
Police said the man actively fought officers when they tried to escort him out of the market. A Taser and pepper spray were used, but did not have an effect, police added.
At one point, Webb tried to take an officer’s gun and scratched one across the face and eye, police said. It took eight officers to get control of the man.
Webb was taken to he Lane County Jail on charges of assault on a public safety officer, attempted first-degree theft of a firearm, resisting arrest, second-degree criminal trespass, and second-degree disorderly conduct.
