SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A man guilty of possessing child pornography will serve 10 years in prison, Lane County District Attorney Patty Perlow said.
Matthew Werner pleaded guilty to 10 counts of first-degree encouraging child sex abuse.
Perlow said the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children learned Werner had a video known to depict child sexual abuse, and detectives with the Springfield Police Department investigated. They reportedly found a “significant” amount of child porn in his possession.
Werner was arrested around the same time as local child psychologist Craig Steinberg, who was also recently sentenced in a child porn case.
