Man in custody after Homeland Security serves warrant in Springfield

Reports that a SWAT team was in the area began coming in at 6 a.m. on Monday.

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Officers from the Department of Homeland Security served a search warrant Monday morning leading to the arrest of a man in the 1200 block of Sequoia Avenue.

SWAT vehicles were reported in the area at about 6 a.m. Monday.

Law enforcement officers who were on scene said one man has been taken into custody. A woman was also seen in handcuffs at the location.

Officials said this is part of a multi-state narcotics team from the Department of Homeland Security.

Springfield police referred requests for more information to the Department of Homeland Security. KEZI has reached out to that agency and is awaiting a response.
