Man seriously injured in three-vehicle crash near Coos Bay

A DirecTV service van was involved in the crash on Highway 101 near Colina Lane.

COOS BAY, Ore. -- A man sustained serious injuries in a Tuesday afternoon crash involving a DirecTV service van on Highway 101 near Colina Lane, Oregon State Police said.

Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the three-vehicle crash at about 4:45 p.m.

OSP said Jeris Doyle, 41, of Coos Bay, who was driving the DirecTV van, was stopped in the northbound inside lane, waiting for traffic to clear to turn left onto Colina Lane.

Zachary Story, 20, of Coos Bay was traveling northbound in a 1992 GMC PU when he struck the back of the van. Story’s vehicle lost control and hit a 1995 Jeep Cherokee driven by Robert Storie, 35, of North Bend.

Doyle and Storie were transported to Bay Area Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Story was initially transported to Bay Area Hospital before being taken by air ambulance to OHSU in Portland with serious injuries.
