Man shot by Eugene Police faces 4 felony charges

26-year-old Muhsin Sharif faces multiple charges including assault, criminal mistreatment, strangulation and unlawful use of a weapon.

EUGENE, Ore. --- The man who was shot and critically injured by Eugene police on Monday was booked into the Lane County Jail Friday night on multiple felony charges.

Muhsin Sharif, 26, was charged with assault, criminal mistreatment, strangulation, and unlawful use of a weapon. All four of those charges are felonies. 

Sharif was booked into the Lane County Jail at 8:56 p.m Friday. There was also a rally held in the Whiteaker neighborhood Friday night demanding more answers about the shooting.

Officials have provided little information about the shooting, including the name of the individual involved, the identity of the officers, the number of shots fired, or whether the subject is alive or dead.

Sharif's name was provided to KEZI by family members who are calling for more transparency.
