FLORENCE, Ore. -- A Mapleton woman has been found guilty of animal neglect after Lane County seized two horses in December.

Heather Dollman was found guilty of all six counts and was fined $250 per count. She also has to pay $1400 in veterinary bills.

In December, the county was tipped off that Dollman's horses "lacked sufficient food and necessary veterinary care" and that they weren't properly sheltered.

The court decided that one of the horses, Pumpkin, will go to a new home through a rescue program. The other horse, Pepper, has to be put down because of its injuries.

Dollman can keep her cats and dogs but can't get any other animals for five years. She was also found guilty of neglecting three horses and a dog in 2013.

She used to be employed at the Oregon Coast Humane Society but has since been fired.
