SALEM, Ore. – Employees of Executive Branch state agencies are now required to wear masks in any indoor workspace, Gov. Kate Brown announced on Friday.

The changes are effective immediately and also apply to visitors and customers who are inside state agency spaces.

"This mask requirement will protect Oregonians, many of whom have been on the frontlines of the pandemic and who continue to provide essential services to Oregonians,” Brown said.

Brown’s new rules for state employees come after recent changes to guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention amid the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant.

Masks are required regardless of vaccination status.
