5 of 12 separate fires that make up Middle Fork Complex completely contained

OAKRIDGE, Ore. -- Officials said 5 out of 12 separate fires that make up the Middle Fork Complex are 100% contained.

In total, the fire is burning at 589 acres. The blaze is made up of 12 separate fires ranging in size from 0.1 acre to 400 acres. The fires are listed below.

  • Devils Canyon—2.25 acres
  • Elephant Rock—15 acres
  • Gales—400 acres
  • Journey—0.1 acre
  • Kwis—25 acres
  • Larison Cove—0.2 acre
  • Ninemile—50 acres
  • Packard—5 acres
  • Symbol Rock—0.1 acre
  • Warble—1 acre
  • Way—0.75 acre
  • Windfall-90 acres

The incidents are in the Fall Creek, Hills Creek Reservoir and north of Huckleberry areas. Two incidents are close to private lands and are priorities for the Forest along with safety of firefighters and community.

332 personnel are currently working to put out the fire. Officials estimate the fire will be contained by Friday Aug. 13.

A LEVEL 3 (GO NOW) evacuation order is in place for all homes, campgrounds and dispersed recreation along Forest Service Road 18 (Big Fall Creek Road) east of the intersection with Forest Service Road 1821, including Puma Campground and Bedrock Campground.
