Officials said on Tuesday, an employee of the hospital recognized Wickham at Washington Jefferson Park and called police. He was taken into custody at about 6:30 p.m. and was taken to the Lane County Jail awaiting transport back to the hospital.

Authorities did not believe Wickham was a danger to himself or others.

Wickham was admitted to the Junction City campus of Oregon State Hospital in 2016 after he was found guilty except for insanity on the charges of assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and felon in possession of a restricted weapon.
