JUNCTION CITY, Ore.--A man was arrested after police say he nearly killed his wife and teenage son with an 8-inch knife.
This happened just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday in the 800 block of Nyssa Street.
Bob Morris, Junction City police chief, said the woman was stabbed five times, including in the chest and abdomen. She was taken to a hospital for emergency surgery and remains in critical condition.
The woman's 18-year-old son was stabbed twice, also in the chest and abdomen, police say. He remains hospitalized.
Arrested was Robert Ward, 58. He is in the Lane County jail charged with assault and unlawful use of a weapon. However, officials said those charges could be upgraded at a later date.
