EUGENE, Ore. -- A motorcyclist walked away with only bumps and bruises after colliding with a car outside of the Oakway Center on Friday morning.

Police said a car was turning left from the parking lot and struck the motorcycle that was traveling north on Oakway Road. No one was taken to the hospital and the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

"People in their cars aren't looking for people on their bicycles or motorcycles," Riley McLean, a witness, said. "So it's something people should pay attention to and be aware of."

Police are asking drivers to look out for each other and not be in a rush during the holiday shopping season.
