Mt. Pisgah to remain closed Monday after wildfire

A fire burned on the southeast side of Mt Pisgah starting Thursday, growing to 51.15 acres.

LANE COUNTY, Ore. -- Buford Park, Mt. Pisgah Arboretum and surrounding trails will be closed through Monday at least, according to Lane County officials.

A fire burned on the southeast side of Mt Pisgah starting Thursday, growing to 51.15 acres. As of Friday, the fire was 75 percent contained.

According to officials, fire crews have been at the park throughout the weekend, mopping up hot spots and removing hazards. They said that conditions haven't improved enough to reopen the park on Monday.

Authorities said that if conditions improve in the next 36 hours, certain trails may reopen on Tuesday. Crews may still be working there through early to mid-week.
