MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. -- A case of novel coronavirus has been identified in Multnomah County, the Oregon Health Authority announced on Tuesday.

Officials said it is the first case in the county, and it brings the state's total to 15 cases in seven counties.

People who have been in close contact with the person in the past two weeks will be identified and isolated, they said.

The individual had no known contact with a confirmed case and had not traveled to a county where COVID-19 is circulating, so officials are investigating it as a case of community spread.

The first Oregon case was announced Feb. 28.
