NORTH BEND, Ore. – More information is coming to light after the murder of a Coos County Doctor this week.

District Attorney Paul Frasier has released the autopsy results of Dr. Craig Jackson, who was killed early Monday morning in North Bend.

According to experts, Jackson died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head, and Frasier added that at this time, it appears the doctor was a victim of a targeted home invasion.

Early into the investigation, Jackson’s wife told authorities two unknown men came into the home and fought with Jackson, causing his death. They reportedly fled the scene.

Authorities have not identified any suspects at this time and have no descriptions, but Frasier said they do not believe the public is in danger.

Jackson was a doctor at Bay Clinic in Coos Bay.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the North Bend Police Department.
