EUGENE, Ore. -- A new community garden is being dedicated in North Eugene on Saturday by the Eugene-Springfield NAACP.

The dedication will take place at 11:30 a.m. on the grounds of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. This stems from the NAACP’s work to address food insecurity and climate change.

The garden will be free and open to the public to access fresh food.

The event will also be a free walk-in COVID-19 vaccination opportunity, provided by White Bird Clinic. Community members can also take part in free COVID-19, Hepatitis C and HIV testing.

“The NAACP has been committed for 111 years to work in community to build bridges of understanding and sustainability,” Executive Director Eric Richardson said.

You can preregister for your vaccine HERE.
