National Frozen Foods reopens Albany plant after outbreak

The plant is back open with a new shift added.

ALBANY, Ore. – The National Frozen Foods plant in Albany has reopened, union officials confirm.

They are now operating three shifts to allow for more social distancing and workers are in full personal protective equipment.

The plant shut down after multiple employees tested positive for coronavirus.

Over the course of the outbreak, at least 30 workers tested positive, as well as four people who live with employees of the plant.

The company was cited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration after an inspection found the plant did not do enough to protect workers.
