No charges in crash that killed Coos Bay man

A woman who was with the man at the time of the crash was seen leaving the scene, and police are still looking for her.

COOS BAY, Ore. – No charges will be filed in a crash that killed a man in Coos Bay on Wednesday.

Police said Rex Lawton, 43, was pushing his vehicle from North 28th Street onto Ocean Boulevard when he was hit by a box truck.

The driver in the crash would not have been able to react in time to avoid crashing into Lawton, police said.

A woman who was with Lawton at the time of the crash was seen leaving the scene, and police are still looking for her.
