EUGENE, Ore.-- A semi-truck collided with an Oregon Department of Transportation vehicle Monday night near milepost 197 on Interstate 5.
ODOT was on scene trying to repair a 4-feet-by-2-feet hole that opened up on the freeway near the Sprague Road underpass.

Oregon State Police closed the slow lane on I-5 southbound as crews waited for the patched hole to dry. An ODOT employee left a white 2014 Dodge 5500 flatbed truck in the slow lane with its emergency lights on.
At about 9:41 p.m., a commercial vehicle towing an empty tanker trailer came across the vehicle and crashed into it. OSP said it was dark and foggy at the time.
Driver Benigno Rivas-Quintanilla of San Bernadino, California, sustained a minor injury.
The lane was closed through the night for repairs
