OHA: Five more coronavirus-related deaths; 58 new cases

The state count of positive cases is at more than 1,200.

SALEM, Ore. – The state death toll rose to 38 with five new coronavirus-related deaths reported on Wednesday.

There are also 58 more cases, bringing the total of positive cases to 1,239. Among the new cases are six in Clackamas, one in Columbia, one in Deschutes, one in Hood River, one in Lane, one in Linn, three in Marion, one in Morrow, 28 in Multnomah, two in Wallowa, and 13 in Washington.

Lane County Public Health announced the Lane County case on Tuesday.

Among the deaths are three Multnomah County residents and two Yamhill County residents.

In Multnomah County, an 88-year-old woman tested positive March 28 and died April 6 at OHSU Hospital. A 77-year-old man in Multnomah County tested positive March 27 and died April 1 at his home. And a 75-year-old woman tested positive April 6 and died the next day at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center.

In Yamhill County, a 94-year-old man and a 90-year-old man both tested positive March 25 and died April 7 at Province Newberg Medical Center.

OHA said they all had underlying health conditions.
