SALEM, Ore. – On Monday, Oregon Health Authority reported 62 new confirmed coronavirus cases and two new presumptive cases.
The new cases include three in Benton, five in Clackamas, one in Clatsop, five in Deschutes, one in Jackson, one in Lane, two in Malheur, 16 in Marion, 12 in Multnomah, five in Umatilla, one in Union, 10 in Washington and two in Yamhill.
Lane County Public Health’s update on Monday showed five new cases for the county, all in the Eugene-Springfield area.
The state total of cases is 3,687.
OHA said one more death has been reported, bringing the death toll to 138. Officials said a 69-year-old Marion County man tested positive May 16 and died the same day at Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center. He had underlying health conditions, OHA said.
Clinical trials of the drug remdesivir are underway at Providence St. Vincent and Providence medical centers in Portland. More than 30 patients received the drug after the state received its first shipment.
