OSU considers Cascade campus VP for interim president role

The OSU Board of Trustees will meet Friday afternoon to discuss the nomination.

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State University may soon be appointing an interim president after the resignation of F. King Alexander.

Vice President Rebecca Johnson of the OSU-Cascades campus is being considered for the role.

The OSU Board of Trustees will meet Friday afternoon to discuss her nomination.

“Dr. Johnson has demonstrated remarkable leadership through more than a decade of growth, challenges and success at OSU-Cascades,” said Board of Trustees Chair Rani Borkar. “She brings more than 30 years of experience at OSU.”

If selected, Johnson could step into the role as soon as May 1.
