Oakridge police seek vehicle that hit pedestrian

According to witnesses, the man ran into the side of a truck pulling a utility trailer.

OAKRIDGE, Ore. -- Oakridge police are looking for the vehicle and driver who hit a pedestrian Wednesday on Highway 58 in Oakridge.

Police Chief Kevin Martin said that according to witnesses, the man ran into the side of a truck pulling a utility trailer. 

The man was transported to the hospital by a medical helicopter, Martin said. He did not know the extent of the man's injuries.

It happened at about 9:30 p.m., on Highway 58 near Union Street in Oakridge.

Martin said it is an ongoing investigation.
