Financial planner sentenced to 2 days jail time for online corruption of a child

Nathan Oeming will not be required to register as a sex offender.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Nathan Oeming, a well-known financial advisor in the Eugene area, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of second-degree online corruption of a child on Thursday.

Oeming was sentenced to two days in jail and three years of supervised probation. He must also  pay a $2,500 fine.

He will not have to register as a sex offender.

Oeming, 40, pleaded not guilty in his first court appearance in January.

In today's hearing, which was held online, Oeming admitted to luring a 15-year-old girl for sex, agreeing to meet her at the Dairy Queen near Sheldon High School back in January. However, the girl was actually a Eugene police detective posing as a minor..

Oeming had condoms and $128 in cash when he was arrested.
